What is GemCardIQ?
GemCardIQ is a sports card portfolio terminal. Snap a photo of any card and get a fair market value built from real recent sales and live listings — then track your entire collection's value, cost basis, and profit in one place.
The problem
The hobby moved billions of dollars and still runs on guesswork. Values live in scattered sold listings, private Discords, and screenshots. Most collectors have no honest number for what their collection is worth, no cost basis, and no way to tell whether a card is climbing or quietly bleeding out. Card shops and big auction houses have data. Everyone else has vibes.
What we built
GemCardIQ treats a collection like a portfolio. Every card gets a defensible value with the comps that produced it, every position gets a cost basis and P&L, and every player gets tracked like a ticker. It's the difference between "I think this is worth about a grand" and knowing the last three sold for $940, $1,020, and $1,110 — and that the trend is up 12% in 30 days.

How the value is built
- 1. Identify. Vision AI reads the card image for player, year, manufacturer, set, parallel, serial numbering, and grade.
- 2. Gather. Recent sold results and current active listings for that exact card are pulled together, not just the closest base version.
- 3. Adjust. Print run and parallel scarcity, grade, and market memory of similar cards are applied so a /10 isn't priced like a base.
- 4. Publish. You see the sold range, the ask range, the resulting fair market value, a confidence read, and the comps behind it — with a timestamp so you know how fresh it is.
